Best 3000 Watt Generators

Purchase your generator for the best price at Amazon.com!

If you're in the market for a portable generator for use in an RV or when camping for example, look no further than a 3000 watt generator.

This sized generator can run an air conditioner and all other necessary electrical devices. Moreover, their compact design makes them easy to carry everywhere.

Because of modern day generator technology, they are safe for use with sensitive and small electronics as well. This makes the 3000W generator market quite saturated, so you will need to do some research to find the best fit for your needs.

Our favorite picks for products currently on sale can be found below. I have analyzed each design so you can pick the one that works best for you.

Champion 3400 Dual Fuel Inverter Generator

Champion Power Equipment 200988 4500-Watt Dual Fuel RV Ready Portable Inverter Generator, Electric Start

The Champion 3400 is a highly efficient inverter generator. It has a maximum output of 3400 watts and a continuous output of 3100 watts. As a result, it is among the most potent inverter generators available at its price point.

This generator may be run on either regular gasoline or liquid propane. Changing fuels is as simple as pushing a button on the control panel. Propane tanks often found in BBQ grills can be utilized to fuel this generator. The specialized hose is included in the package.

Among RV inverter generators, this 3000 watt one is our top pick. This is mostly because it is equipped with a high-powered RV plug that can handle 30 amps. As a result, you may put an end to your adapter issues. Connecting this generator to your RV is as easy as using the 30 amp generator power cord.

You may rest assured that all your traveling needs will be powered by this generator.

There is no reason why you couldn't use the Champion 3400 as a home backup generator in case of an outage. Although it won't be able to power your complete home, it will give you what you need to operate your electronics, heating and lighting. It's a twin fuel generator, so you can count on a long, steady runtime. That makes it an even more attractive choice when a 3000 watt generator with long-term reliability is a must.

The reasonable price is another strong point of this generator. It's typically less expensive than the top end generators by a significant margin.

In addition to Champion's widespread brand recognition, the reliability of the brand's generators has been attested to by several satisfied customers. It has been noted that the company's customer service is second to none.

Another great thing about this generation is that they are notably silent. At higher loads, its noise level is still less than 65 dB, which is well below the threshold recommended for most RV sites and national parks.

The only real downside to this generator is its plastic wheels, which will quickly wear out if you want to transport it over long distances. This is, however, a minor flaw in the generator's design that has no bearing on its performance.

If you're looking for a dual fuel inverter generator with 3000 watts of power, we recommend the Champion 3400. This is one of the best 3000 watt inverter generators money can buy.

Briggs & Stratton P3000 Inverter Generator

The Briggs & Stratton P3000 Inverter Generator is surprisingly simple to operate, given its power and extensive feature set.

It's safer and less expensive to invest in a generator made by a trusted brand like Briggs & Stratton in my opinion. Although the budget generators have improved a lot recently and should not be ignored.

A user-friendly feature is the LCD panel that displays data about the system's performance. The display also serves as a handy reminder for when regular upkeep is due.

The P3000 can deliver a maximum of 3,000 watts in a surge and 2,600 watts continuously. You can get twice the power without adding another connection by running two of these generators in parallel, thanks to the parallel capability.

The generator can run for 10 hours at quarter load on the 1.5 gallon fuel tank, and it makes only 58 dB of noise thanks to Briggs & Stratton's Quiet Power Technology. When activated, the technology helps ensure that the generator only produces the amount of electricity that is actually needed.

Genmaz 3200W Inverter Generator

I understand that you may not be familiar with Genmax because they are a relatively young company that is currently working to establish their brand.

Mostly based in China, they've been making generators for big names for years.

I believe they help make DuroMax and Harbor Freight generators but I am not 100% sure as obviously this information is not widely circulated. But rest assured, they have made products for reputable businesses before, and they are using that experience to create their own.

The generators are quite well made and provide a great deal of useful features at a modest cost. They have already made a name for themselves in the generator industry, as seen by the positive feedback they've received from satisfied customers.

Their generators only come with a one-year warranty, but with this 3200W model, you can buy an extra 4 Years of protection for only $70. Considering how cheap they are, an extended warranty is something you should consider getting.

At the price point it is almost worth buying it regardless and have it as a backup to your first choice 3000W generator. However, I believe that this is a fantastic buy in its own right and  provides excellent value for money.

Generac GP3000i Generator

Generac G0071540 GP3300i Portable Inverter Generator, Orange, Black

Everyone appreciates a reliable, portable option when shopping for a 3000 watt generator.

The Generac GP3000i, at roughly $1,000, is a bit more than the going rate for such products. However, what ends up being delivered to users is a highly transportable, reliable option.

There will always be a slight increase in quietness when using an inverter generator, but this unit is exceptional.

It lacks the functionality of more robust alternatives, but consumers typically aren't interested in such aspects when purchasing a device like this.

Similarly to a wide variety of other, smaller devices, they can be linked together to provide more power. If you have a larger house or just want to be prepared for the worst, this is a great option.

This Generac type is one of the few fully enclosed generators available. It's impossible to know how this might play out in reality, but it seems more robust than more open alternatives. That means fewer issues for those taking such a generator on the road.

The last thing that stands out is the initial current flowing from this generator. PowerRUSH technology allows for a 50% increase in initial output. Therefore, it's possible to get started with fewer resources and gradually increase productivity.

It's great and really helpful when power is needed quickly to get things underway. This generator can accommodate a wide variety of devices using standard or USB connectors without becoming overloaded. It's amazing to see how much work such a tiny generator can do.

If you want portability and power but don't want to spend more than a thousand dollars, this is the ideal compromise.

Honda EU3000is Generator

Honda Power Equipment EU3000IS1AN 3000W 120V Portable Home Gas Power Generator

Both professionals and average Americans agree that Honda makes premium end inverter generators for the market. Ultimately, Honda's launching of the 2000-watt Honda EU2000i was responsible for the widespread use of inverter generators.

The EU3000iS is Honda's most popular 3000 watt generator right now.

It has an authentic Honda engine and is a very sturdy machine. The steel chassis provides protection for the engine. Just by looking at it, you can tell that this generator is sturdy enough to handle tough duties in severe weather.

When running, the Honda EU3000iS is noticeably quieter than its competitors. At 25% load, just one 3000 watt inverter generator is quieter than 50 dB.

That's quieter than two people talking, so it could be an option if you prefer peace and quiet from your generator. This generator is perfect for use in outdoor settings like parks for campers and recreational vehicles or even in the garden at home.

Just two issues exist with this generator. To begin with, it's really costly. Honda's generators are among the best on the market, and their prices reflect that. As a second disadvantage, it is difficult to move around. The wheel kit has to be bought separately. Moving this thing from one place to another can be challenging if you don't have them.

Consider purchasing two Honda EU2200i generators and operating them in parallel if you're interested in Honda generators with a little more power.

Champion 3100W RV Ready Inverter Generator

Champion Power Equipment 100573 4000-Watt DH Series Open Frame Inverter, Wireless Remote Start & t Storage Cover for 3100-Watt or Higher Inverter Generators

The Champion 3100-Watt RV-Ready Portable Inverter Generator is one of the best 3000-watt inverter generators you can buy. As a result of its Smart Economy Mode, it produces only as much power as is actually needed.

Offering somewhat more power than other generators for a similar price, this generator has 2,800 watts of regular power and 3,100 watts of surge power, but is less portable and cannot be operated in parallel.

In addition, it lacks some features like it does not remind you when it's time to give the machine a checkup and execute maintenance. On the other hand, it has special tires that won't go flat and can be used on any terrain.

The air-cooled, low-load engine can operate for eight hours without human intervention.

This generator is CARB-compliant making it more environmentally friendly than most generators, and it meets EPA standards.

On top of that, it's more affordable than other premium alternatives. It isn't as user-friendly or convenient, but it's still a good choice for those in need of a generator, especially those who travel by recreational vehicle.

Wen 56310i-RV Generator

WEN GN400i RV-Ready 4000-Watt Open Frame Inverter Generator, CARB Compliant, Black/orange

It's not the most powerful or reliable generator available, but it has many useful options, so it deserves your consideration.

The convenience of transporting the generator is the first thing that jumps out at you and it weighs only 82 pounds, although it looks to be even lighter than that.

This makes it perfect for anyone who needs to take the generator with them, and most grownups are capable of transporting it on their own for a short while.

In addition, there is a wheel kit at your disposal, which may be used if desired, is highly practical, and folds up neatly for storage.

A portable generator is only useful if it does not disturb anyone around it while running. Making a compact, portable generator that can't be used in various locations due to its tremendous noise does not make much sense.

The generator usually maintains a constant noise level of around 60 dBA. Think about how low the average discussion is for some context.

The generator is convenient for those who are constantly on the go, but it may be combined with another unit of its kind if extra juice is required.

The company's eco-mode is a nice touch.

This generator works quite fine, except that its housing isn't nearly as durable as some other options but it is an accessory for anyone on the go who needs a quick jolt of energy.

For the cost, there aren't a lot of viable options.

Firman W03081 Gas portable Generator

Firman W03081 3300/3000 Watt Recoil Start Gas Portable Generator cETL and CARB Certified

The Firman generator is powerful and surprisingly cheap. It has a 3,300-watt starter rating and 3,000-watt running power, making it a real solid 3,000-watt generator.

While it may be cumbersome to move about due to its weight of 97 pounds, Firman did include a set of wheels. Also, the convenient carry handle makes it a breeze to transport.

The assortment of switches, knobs, and lights in the control bank is impressive, but the control unit's 9-hour average run time is limited by the 1.8-gallon fuel tank. While the Firman W03081 portable generator comes with oil, oil filter, and wrenches. It does not come with parallel connectors, these need to be bought separately if you want to combine two units.

This is one of the loudest generators on the list, but in comparison to more old fashioned generators it is pretty quiet.

Final Thoughts

All the 3000 watt generators on this list are excellent generators, and are good all rounders. Make sure you know what you are using the generator for, how often, and under what conditions. Then make what you believe to be the best purchasing decision.

To be honest I would be happy owning all of these generators on the above list.
